Books on Prescription Results

FeedbackDuring November 2012 and February 2013 we asked you your views on the Books On Prescription (BOP) scheme.

The scheme works by prescribing people with a book by their GP or mental health professional to improve their health.  However, the Books On Prescription books do not have to be prescribed by a health professional they can be picked up in the library as normal.

Over three quarters of respondents ‘strongly agreed’ that they found the Books On Prescription (BOP) material helpful, and 88% of people said they would recommend this scheme to a friend/family member.

As a result of this survey

  • the BOP titles have been reviewed and new titles have been added.
  • the prescription form used by GPs has been amended to simplify the process of prescribing BOP books/audio CDs.

The findings have been very useful so thank you for your comments.
