Rugby Town Centre enhancement consultation plans revealed

The proposed enhancement scheme which will continue the improvements for pedestrian access to Rugby Town Centre is going to public consultation at the end of this month.  Exhibitions will be taking place in Rugby Town Centre on Thursday 26th September and Saturday 28th September. Rugby residents are encouraged to give their views.

The exhibitions on Thursday 26th September, starting at 10.00am and finishing at 5.00pm will be sited at:-

  • Clock Towers Shopping Centre, Market Mall
  • Rugby Library, Little Elborow Street
  • Rugby Borough Council, Town Hall, Evreux Way

The exhibitions on Saturday 28th September, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 3.30pm will be sited at:-

  • Clock Towers Shopping Centre, Market Mall
  • Rugby Library, Little Elborow Street
  • St Andrews Church, Church Street, Rugby

An enhancement scheme for Rugby Town Centre was initially developed in 2011.  This has now been superceded by the scheme currently being consulted upon that extends the pedestrianised area around the Clock Towers.  In this scheme, North Street and Church Street traffic will be limited to, buses, cyclists and taxis.  Other through traffic will be diverted to alternative routes.  The scheme will aim to build on the benefits brought about by the relief road.  This is the next stage of the work,  and will further improve Rugby as a town to live in and to visit.

How to have your say:-

The consultation period ends on the 25th October 2013.
