Let’s Talk – Questions with the Leader

Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council, and Cllr Alan Cockburn, Deputy Leader, are hosting a special session next week to tell local people more about the financial challenge faced by the local authority as it seeks to make unprecedented savings of £92million by 2018.

The event, which will take place from 6pm – 8pm on Wednesday 30 October at Shire Hall in Warwick, is also a chance for the public to ask the councillors questions and find out more about some of the difficult decisions which will have to be made.

The Councillor question time session concludes the series of Let’s Talk roadshows currently taking place across Warwickshire. The roadshows have enabled Cllrs Seccombe and Cockburn and Cabinet members to go out and talk to people in local communities to help them understand more about the scale of the savings and find out which services are important to them.

Cllr Izzi Seccombe said: “The roadshows and this session at Shire Hall are proving to be an excellent way to engage with members of the public and have meaningful conversations about the issues we face.”

“I want to help people understand some of the issues we face, the services we provide and to communicate our priorities, which are to protect our most vulnerable citizens, deliver efficient and effective services, and seek opportunities for economic growth.”

The event at Shire Hall is limited to 120 places, book yours now at http://warwickshirecountycouncil.eventbrite.co.uk/ or by calling 01926 414142.

For those unable to attend arrangements will be made to include footage of the session at warwickshire.gov.uk/letstalk.

Anyone who wishes to get in touch via social media can submit questions and comments throughout the event via Twitter to @wcc_news and these will be addressed in the session.
