Scrutiny and outcome of proposed changes to Integrated Disability Service

The Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee is holding a special meeting on Wednesday 16 July to scrutinise the proposed Local Offer Framework and Personal Budgets for Social Care and Short Breaks for children and young people with special education needs or disabilities. This was subject to a public consultation exercise during June 2014 and the Committee will be hearing the outcome of the consultation and what proposals are being put forward.
The Committee has closely monitored the review of this service since Council approved a £1.76 million reduction in the budget for the Integrated Disability Service and has received representations from local family groups, such as Family Voice Warwickshire, about the impact of the changes on parents, carers and the children and young people with specific needs.
At the meeting, the Committee will consider the proposals in order to form a collective view and submit recommendations, if considered appropriate, to Cabinet on 22nd July 2014.
