Domestic Violence and Abuse

** THIS CONSULTATION IS NOW CLOSED **

Have you or someone you know ever experienced domestic violence and abuse? We want your views.

Warwickshire County Council wants to better understand the support needs of people aged over 16 affected by domestic violence and abuse.

Approximately 9,000 people experience domestic violence and abuse each year in Warwickshire, this does not include the children in those families.

We know this is probably an under-estimation as many people don’t come forward and some don’t recognise their experiences as domestic violence and abuse.

Warwickshire County Council commissions two services for people affected by domestic violence and abuse in the county. They are the Domestic Abuse Support Service and the Refuge Service.

We want to know whether these services are focusing on the right support areas and also what’s important to someone in need of support.

If you, or perhaps someone you know, has been affected by domestic violence and abuse we want to hear from you. You don’t need to have used Warwickshire’s services to be able to respond.

We know that thinking about experiences of domestic violence and abuse can be distressing. Throughout the survey we provide contact details for support services who are there for you to talk to.

The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and you can stop the survey at any time; you don’t have to fill out anything you don’t want too, especially if you find it upsetting – Please click HERE to complete the survey.

Your responses will be completely confidential, your information will never be seen individually but only in the aggregate with other people’s responses. We have disabled our ability to track down each response by the computer addresses.

By completing this survey you will be helping to shape future domestic violence and abuse support services in Warwickshire.

The survey will close on Sunday 3rd January 2016 and the key messages will be published shortly after as part of a Domestic Violence and Abuse Needs Assessment on www.safeinwarwickshire.com/vawg.

If you have any queries relating to this survey or the domestic violence and abuse needs assessment, please contact us at vawg@warwickshire.gov.uk

Please note this survey is for people aged 16 and over. We will be doing separate needs assessments for children and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse.

If you or someone you know is affected by domestic violence and abuse, please contact the Warwickshire domestic abuse helpline on 0800 4081552 or visit www.talk2someone.org.uk. In an emergency always call 999.Domestic Violence
